Evening on Antique Row...

The Palm Beach Post | March 7, 2009

West Palm Beach's Antique Row holds another traffic-stopping party tonight as the 14th Evening on Antique Row gets under way at 5:30.  South Dixie Highway will be blocked from Southern Boulevard to Greenwood Drive until 9:30, as more than 50 shops selling antiques, vintage furniture, fabric and art stay open late in what's become West palm Beach's art and design district.

Although locals have shopped on South Dixie for years, more recently national magazines have touted Antique Row as the place to find everything from mid-century furniture to pedigreed antiques to fun and funky vintage accessories.  In addition to antiques dealers, shops selling fabrics, vintage clothing and high-end Farrow & Ball paint have opened.

This year, the shopping-and-strolling event, sponsored by the Young Friends of the Historical Society of Palm Beach County, will offer food from local restaurants including legal Sea Foods, III Forks, Palm Beach Grill, Nick and Johnnie's and The Lord's Place/Cafe Joshua Catering Company.
